Working with colored pencil allows me to slow down and truly study the animals I draw, capturing not just their appearance but their presence. I build each piece in layers, carefully blending colors to reflect the subtle shifts in fur, feathers, and light, which helps bring a sense of life and depth to my subjects. The control this medium offers lets me focus on fine details—like the softness of an ear or the intensity in an eye—while still creating a natural, organic feel. Through these drawings, I aim to honor the individuality of each animal and create a quiet, intimate connection between the viewer and the natural world.
