More Than Wild
We often use the word “wild” to describe animals as though it tells us everything we need to know about them. Wild. Predator. Prey. Species. Instinct.
But an animal is so much more than the category we place it in.
More Than Wild explores the individuality, beauty, and emotional lives of animals beyond the word “wild.” These works invite us to look past instinct and appearance and consider the lives that exist behind them—their curiosity, their fear, their comfort, their relationships, and their capacity to experience the world in ways we may never fully understand.
I am fascinated by the moments when an animal seems to become more than a subject. When a tiger appears contemplative. When a lioness expresses tenderness or grief. When a creature simply pauses to experience the world around it.
These moments remind me that wildlife is not simply something that exists out there, separate from us. Each animal is an individual living a life of its own, experiencing a world that is both unfamiliar to us and, in many ways, remarkably familiar.
Through my work, I hope to encourage a deeper way of looking—to see beyond the label, beyond the species, and beyond the idea of “wild.”
Because they are more than wild.
They are living. Feeling. Experiencing.
They are individual souls, sharing this world with us.
